An initiative by Professor Tan Teck Meng, a Professor of Accountancy at the Singapore Management University (SMU), SAGESG was officially launched on 29th January 2008. It aims to advance youth business and social entrepreneurship in an ethical and socially-responsible manner.
SAGESG National Competition
The SAGESG National in June 2011 will allow participating Junior College teams to showcase their commercial and social ventures and compete for the chance to represent Singapore at the SAGE World Cup on July/August 2011 (host country TBA). The annual SAGE World Cup competition is a prestigious international tournament that brings together contesting teams from across the globe, and recognizes the most effective and creative social business ideas implemented to support the sustainability of various communities. In addition, SAGESG offers meaningful opportunities for learning and exchanging of ideas, providing a competitive edge to participants looking to enter top universities.
With respect to the choice of competitions of either the the Social Enterprise Business (SEB) or the Socially Responsible Business (SRB), SAGESG has decided to conduct only the SEB Competition. Do note that the judging criteria for SEB is different from that of SRB.
